There are 11 golf courses around the hotel, including its own championship course, The Duke’s Course, annually ranked in the Top 100 courses in the UK by Golf World. It is situated just 10 minutes from the Old Course Hotel with a stunning heathland setting high above St Andrews.
The Duke’s offers majestic greens, beautiful fairways, stunning views and picturesque surroundings. The first class facilities on offer at The Duke’s Course include a well appointed clubhouse, driving range, putting green, short game area and Par 3 loop.

The Duke’s St Andrews was designed in 2004 by five-time Open champion, Peter Thomson, to complement the five classic links courses of the Home of Golf and to further enhance St Andrew’s standing as a golfing mecca.
Following renovations by Pete Dye’s protege Tim Liddy in 2006, The Duke’s has now matured into a magnificent championship heathland course that is widely regarded as one of the finest heathland championship courses in the British Isles.

Its spectacular setting high above St Andrews offers stunning panoramic views over the Auld Grey Toon, the magnificent Grampian Mountains and the famous West Sands. Its sheltered fairways and mature tree lines and rough-edged bunkers are reminiscent of the great heathland courses of the early 1900s and provide golfers with a welcome respite from the tough windy links of St Andrews.
With five separate tee boxes on each hole, The Duke’s offers both challenging play and flexibility for golfers of every level. In recognition of the quality of the course and its clubhouse, The Duke’s was voted the ‘Best Club of the Year’ by the Golf Club of the Year Awards in 2010 and was ranked inside the Top 100 Courses in the UK by Golf World Magazine and also reached position 27 in the Golf World rankings for Scotland.
